Man, I am on top of my shit.

Somehow my check hit the bank last night instead of tonight.
So, now, I have already gotten all my bills in the mail.

And actually still have a little.

So, since the budget and all . . . its time to make my money stretch for all its worth.

Time to go to Classic's for 5$ all you can drink and listen to Adam Hood.

Hell yes.
Texas Tuesday . . .
except not really.

get up on it and dance a jig . .

Where I was, Where I am.

I had to go to my old work place today to pick up my W2, and it got me to thinkin.

I saw some familiar faces, got alot of hugs, felt alot of love. And thought, man it would suck to work here, but I did for 4 years. And I got to meet these guys and gals and got some friends out of the deal. People who you don't talk to very much, but would still love to talk with ya. I am thankful that I get "loved" so much. I dig people, and people tend to dig me.

Then I went and ate at City Bites, and got a spud, what I used to always do when I worked there, and a Brooks 'n' Dunn song came over the speakers. And it was one that I played when I was in Outwest, the top 40 boot scootin smoke and lights band. And just thought again . . man I have done some stupid shit in my time.

And I think about where I was and where I am, and I love my progress.

And one thing rings through all the years.

People always puke in my bathroom. . .

The Devil's Advocate: TMO Scoop: Apple Files Patent for Looking Glass || The Mac Observer

check that shit out.
Can you say "innovative thinking"?

Ahhh . . Over the hump.

Tis Thursday and All is well.

Had a few drinks last night and watched the Godsmack DVD, those dudes can play some drums.
Thanks Robert for turning down my idea to walk to Cock of the Walk "for a beer". That was not one of my brightest ideas. My wife didn't even make any snide comments about my dumbass idea either. She rocks.

Got this site done last night. Feels nice to be done with a project. Feels nice to get paid for finishing a project as well. Thanks to Ryin for the flash.

Everyone was kung fu fighting.

Wutang!!!

Some things. . .

First a joke sent to me from my good friend Jes . . .

A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me."

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

nice one . . .

Congrats to my ol' buddy Red and his top 20 Americana Station at Live365.com. "Teaching you that there's more to the internet than just porn, You're listening to the SKYLINE RADIO."

And I got all these damn shows I wanna go see or definitely AM going to see. . . Average of about one a week.

Tomorrow - Randy Rogers Band at the WD - prolly won't make it.
Saturday - the Magnificent MMB at the WD - I'm in fo sho
Tuesday the 31st - Adam Hood at Classics - payday and 5 dollar drown.
Wednesday the 1st - I wanna play with Chad at Bin73
Thursday the 9th - Nickelback in Wichita - already got tix.
Saturday the 11th - Split Lip Rayfield - Dont wanna miss it. - 10$
Saturday the 18th - JBS at the Weed in STW - I have always seen them around my BDay, and this is it.
Friday the 24th - MY BDAY, I want to see the South Austin Jug Band and Reckless at WD

And the Mrs. and I are going to start on a budget, and as much as it makes me cringe . . . it needs to happen. I mean it really NEEDS to happen. It is going to suck balls, but . . . it will be better in the long run after I kill some of this debt.

I am not looking forward to it at all.

Soo, we'll see what comes of it.
Man, just thinking about it makes me want to drink.

fuck.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Oh, yeah! Dad's in town!!

So, I get to see my pa for a couple of days. He's in town doing "pilot" things. So, I think my wife and I are going to cook him a fantastic meal tonight. I am anxious to see him and let him see the house. It has became quite "homey" since he saw it at the wedding.

So, now I am ready to play again. That was too much fun. I forgot how happy I am behind a kit. You know after beating myself up and all about making it in a music scene . . . I forgot to just have fun and enjoy playing.

I don't wanna worry about what these people said, I don't wanna worry about getting paid, I don't wanna worry about getting big enough to do this, or getting good enough to have this or that . . . I just wanna play and have fun.

Fuck the drama that comes with things.
What people say, what people think.
I don't care.
Just let me play the drums and be happy.

fo sho.

Now I'm gonna get back to doing some design. Another thing that I love doing.

Yesterday, felt like shit and was pissy and depressed a bit.
Today, feel like my normal "feel blessed and be a blessing" kinda guy.

What a difference a day makes.

now go kick ass at whatever it is that you do.
and as cheeseball as it sounds.
Go make someone smile.

rock it.
I'm out.

Saturday at the Brewery was a blast!

Well, that show was a blast. As a band, we gave ourselves a B or a B-, but what was really good to me, is that most folks said that they weren't expecting us to be so tight. So it was really great to hear that we went beyond people's expectations. We definitely had a blast, and that is the main reason why we do it. It was really fun to be able to rock out on the kit again.

So, The CDB rocked it. We all had fun, impressed some folks, and could be looking at quite a few more gigs there at the Brewery. So that is killer.

I sat in with the Plainview guys on some songs with my congas. Now that I have a stand to hold them up, thanks to Bob. After all the years of beating the shit out of them, climbing on them, and riding them, my stand was laid to rest, and the new kickass Gibralter stand stepped up shiney and new to hold the ever so stickered congas of mine. And as always, I had a blast jumping around and acting a fool with them. Thanks to you guys for all of that.

I think I may have fractured my pointer finger though, but today the swelling is finally down, so I think its gonna be okay.

All in the name of rock.

And sorry Ted for no live radio broadcast . . I wasn't in on the deal. Thanks for the lovely voicemail though. Drunk Ted messages always brings a smile to my face.

Have a wonderful Monday.
see ya round the bend.

The CDB at the Brewery with Plainview Saturday!

Just a reminder.
I think we will prolly hit the stage at 9:30.
Come check it out.

and yes, I am on a full kit.

rock out.

Anyone got about 30 grand?

I really need to erase some debt that continues to piss me off.

I would really appreciate it.

Life rules.
money sucks.

Go see some live music this weekend.

Thursday, January 19, 2006

Oh, and my Car feels brand new!

which is really cool.

Last night, I taught my kids how to stage dive . . .

Young hippy professors that teach they're kids how to rock are cool.
International deans are cool.
Multicultural department heads are cool.

Last night was cool.
Seeing and listening to Linville was cool.
Chatting with Mike and telling him to be a humble soul was cool.
Touching base with Stoney was cool.
Chatting with fellow Boise Cityans, Ronnye, Phillip, and Matt was cool.
Thinking and analyzing some work issues was cool.
Being fairly grown up was really cool.

But I need to use my phone a little better.

Love all of you!

Linville at the dog tonight.

Nice laidback acoustic night.
Love it.

be there.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

Well, Let's get caught up.

First off . . . Apple Rules
You PC'ers just don't know what your missing.

Secondly . . . I now have 3 places on the net. This blog, MySpace, and Kevmo.com. I need to figure out what the hell I am going to do here. Not sure man, may make kevmo.com a portfolio site for freelance. May make it live again for something else, I just don't know.

Thirdly . . . Bowling is fun. The wife and I met up with Roberto and bowled at 66 bowl and had a blast on Saturday. Sunday we played monopoly, which was fun until she started kicking my ass. She was full of luck, and I was not. I swear I got sent to jail 5 times, and I wasn't even speeding?!

Having Monday off ruled. Working at a University is a pretty killer gig.

Caroline's car is running great . . . was a bit of a fluke. Still have to take mine in . . I'm scared. But it is just making a noise, still runs great, so maybe something just got loose and is rattling. Anyway, fun times there.

I want EVERYONE who is available to be at the Bricktown Brewery this Saturday! The CDB is getting rather tasty and is going to take the stage before Plainview. I am sure that those guys would like it if you stay and check them out too. But for my purposes, you can be excused after we're done and go on about your nightly fun.

I guess thats about it. I miss my family. I got spoiled seeing them on Thanksgiving then at the wedding. I am ready to see my parents and my bro's fam again. Once springtime rolls around, I am sure we will take a vacation and visit.

Oh, and I put a link over there --------------------->
for Skyline Radio. My old buddy Red is kicking ass on it. And don't forget to listen to the Chuck Norris Moments 20 minutes after almost every hour!
Funny shit.

Have a great day people!
Rock on!

Count me in . . .

Right after going to see Nickelback. We will come back and see Split Lip at the Brewery

Hell yes.
I am ready to get out of January. I can't do anything until I get paid again.
Damn it.

I'm better now . . .

I saw the newborn just a bit ago. Seemed to do me good.

It must have been one of those 8 hour funks.

Apple has some new shit to check out. Give me money so I can buy some of it.

rock balls.

I'm so Jaded . . .

Even though life is good, and this morning a new life was born. Caroline's sister, Laura, gave birth to Joshua Michael this morning, 7lbs 4 oz. . . Caroline is ecstatic! So congrats to them! Everyone is happy and healthy.

So, why am I so jaded, so pissy about things. I guess I am just having one of those days, but damn! I feel edgy. Little things are just irritating the shit out of me. Small actions of people, minor things about people butting in and saying things, rumors that don't even include me, same old music, same old way to work, same old lunch.

I don't know.
Maybe I just need to count to 10 and realize life is well.
other than the fact that our gas bill was fucking 3 times as much as usual this month.

DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN.
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN.
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN!
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN!!

damn those bastards.

And I was so happy yesterday.

Jonathan's Radio.blog.

Jake's brother, Jonathan has a playlist of Jake's old songs and six new ones. Just click on the first link on the right and take a listen. Nice to hear his voice again. Many fun times with ol' Jakey Boy. He is now going on 2 years of being clean and sober! Sounds like he is feeling fantastic.

Anyway, thought some of you would enjoy.

Someone going southbound has now turned and is going northbound.
A bird is snacking on a snake right now.
Someone just ran over a very loved family pet.
Oh shit! . . . did you hear that pop! A tire just blew out. Damn, man . . that caused them to wreck.
There's another fire.
A college kid just got drunk for his first time.
A father is giving his son his first driving lesson.
And Finally, Our Feature Story, Breaking news . . .

Someone had it dawn on him that this is Friday and everyone should get together and have a party, a hoot-n-anny, a hoe-down, a twisted gathering, a collection of friends/family that enjoy the same things, discussing, relaxing, eating, and getting drunk . . I mean . . stoned . . . I mean . . . . . . . happy, in what every way that you do. Maybe its dancing, maybe its just the conversations. Whatever it is . . .

Come and Get your copy today!

Okay People. . . Here it goes.

Monday, January 02, 2006

Check it out.

I think I'm gonna make it live again.

Sometime soon.

Feel Blessed, and Be a Blessing.

Happy New year folks.
Not only am I am going to feel extremely blessed this year, I am going to try to be a blessing to those around me.
This was one of the best holiday seasons that I have ever had . . . that is because I spent it with my wife.
Now its back to the grindstone of the day in day out work schedule.
That 8 days that I worked in December was grand, or should I say the 23 days that I had off was grand.

Anyway . . . I wanted to post the letter that I wrote to by Dad and was read by Ragan (go check out www.tablezero.com) during the wedding.
----------------------------------------

Dear Dad,

Through the years you have taught me right and wrong.
I have questioned your advice time and time again . . . then made the wrong decision and in reflection, known that you were right. The question of whether “unconditional love” exists is answered with the love that you have shown me over the years.

We’ve had our rough and tumble times, and we’ve had some explosive conversations, but as I have grown older and have mellowed, you have grown older and mellowed. And the advice that you have given me touches me everyday . . .
And lately more and more times DURING each day . . . More than it ever has in the past.

You are the wisest man that I know . . . You have done more things and accomplished more than anyone that I have ever came in contact with . . .
And now, after numerous years of being bitter, I have to figure out how you knew what was right. Because now I see the image of what you knew I was capable of.
The life that you have asked for, and the life that you have wanted for me is there . . . And now I see it. As you said in your song . . .
“All of my life, til now”
“I hoped and I prayed, that some upcoming day”
“Our son’s, they too, could hold in their arms a girl like you”

Well, Dad . . . as you and I know, I have found a lady with the same big, warm, forgiving heart like your wife . . . My mother has done more for me than anyone could ever possibly imagine, and I know that you know that . . . I love you both so dearly, and know in my heart that Caroline & I will abide by our parents knowledge . . .
Because the most amazing thing in life, is a great family.

I love you Dad!

Kevin
