Nice, nice, relaxing weekend.

So, this weekend was quite special, being that I didn't really do much. I hung out with my lovely fiance and chilled. Friday I was in bed by 9:30. That Wednesday and Thursday about killed me. Not really, but I hadn't done that in a long time. It was great to get to hang with some of the folks that are always out on the road. Never really just get to hang with them anymore. But it sure wore me out. Then on Saturday, we got up and went and looked at the limos that we could have for our ride for our wedding. Man, they had some killer cars. We picked one that will freaking blow you all away. It is going to be awesome. Then we did some registering at Sears, which went well. I picked out alot of tools.. I love tools. Then I went to jam on the kit for a bit with Chad and the boys which also went kick ass. Got some new tunes kinda laid down. Then after that Caroline and I packed the tent and went on our first camping trip together in our new tent. Thanks ma and pa!! It was awesome. Went to Red Rock Canyon and built a campfire and just enjoyed the time. I loved it. I love us. Broke it down on Sunday and came back to town. I was a bit restless and so when Caroline was about ready for bed, I topped off my weekend with a trip to Don's. Played some conga with some folks and had a couple of beers. Those guys have gotten alot better since the last time I had seen them. It was a nice way to top off a great weekend.

My life is blessed.

merry mondays.

It must have been the Music!

I'm in a great mood.

Might be the fact that Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers are playing our reception. (kinda) God bless the dog!

Might be the fact that Mr. McClure played my dad's and I's favorite tune of his. "World Go Round". And even put a little tag to my dad in one of the lines . . . . . Oh and, it's the Braums #187 on Highway 3 and Council. Bitch. Come into MY work and act a fool anytime.
What a punk.
But one of the coolest punks on the planet.

Might be the fact that some of the Stragglers were there and actually hang out and chit chat.

Might be the fact that Dave Ray is in town.

Might be the fact that Jeremy Watkins of the Stoney Larue band always answers my phone calls. (he's a better man than me, cause everyone knows that I am a bitch at answering my phone)

Might be the fact that I have a killer job.

Might be the fact that I am marrying one of the most amazing ladies in the world.

But . . .
my friends.
It might be the music.

See yall at Stoney in a few hours. The new record fuckin rules. I think we are going to be in for a treat!

Ahhhhhhhh. . . . The pleasures of being famous.

It really sucks that our society is so intrigued with what famous people do, that photographers can fetch a quarter million dollars for a damn photo of them doing something. That's insane, and if I was famous, I think I would pull a Tommy Lee on some of those bastards. . . but maybe I could be sly about it and not physically hit them with my fists. Maybe just ram a few with my big ass SUV because they got too close. Or maybe I could have a mirror, and everytime they tried to get a pic of me, I would flash the mirror and burn their eyes making them never to see or take pictures again. Or maybe I could come out with a camera and have all my bodygaurds have cameras and start flashing their eyes away. mwaaaaahahahahaha

yeah, thats the ticket
yeah.

Q."Did you hear what they call a booger with anorexia?"
A. "Slim Pickins"

burrrrhurhurhurhur

Go forth and conquer the day away.
alright then.

My little wooden "Magic" Box

I lost it at the party.

let me know if anyone has found it.
It may be in ragan's couch.

I miss it already.

Good ol' Craig!

Great hat dude

WRINKLES AND ROCK N ROLL.

Gotta give it up to them. We all know its harder to rock when your joints hurt.

Didn't seem to phase the "grown - up" party on Saturday night. Man, that is fun. Ragan throws a good one. I was just glad to wake up and not have anything drawn on my face, since I went down before alot of the others. Or at least I think I went down before alot of the others. I also figured more folks would crash there . . . everyone must have driven home which kinda scared me, but to each their own. I will take some floor space or the loveseat anyday.

Well, I sure wanted to stay in bed this morning. When the thunder rolls, I roll back over.

Wednesday is Mac and Travis. Always a killer show.
Thursday is Stoney. Anxious to see what he has put together.

I have no money, so I am going to be stayin in . . . for the most part.
I think I may be on hiatus this weekend. May take the tent and go find a nice quiet retreat somewhere. I am feeling some personal time coming on.
Could just be the gloomy monday syndrome.
fuck, I don't know.

whatever.
love ya'll
have a killer day

Rock it.

Since the techs here didn't order my mac with a superdrive, I am solving the problem by getting this! Looks pretty cool, the whole "LightScribe" printing on the CD thing is killer. I am anxious.

Looks like, I may take it easy breasy tonight. Save up all my energy for tomorrow night. Gonna be a hoot.

THIS BITCH STOLE MY FISH!!!

Man, that is some funny shit!

Ahhh the days of the Suzuki 125.

Man, today I had a flashback to when I was 14 and I had my motorcycle license. And I mean it was a powerful one, I had the same feelings that I did then. It was about me riding my 125 enduro motorcycle around town. Cruising, if you will, with the high schoolers. Draggin main . . . goin uptown . . . honking at everyone you know. I even had a walkman and some battery powered speakers strapped on to it, so I could crank up the Ozzy, Motley Crue, Thunder, Skid Row, or any other fuckin bad ass 80's Rock that you could think of. It ruled.

ahhh . . . those were the days of daydreams, crushes, and finding out what life was about.

Much like my life about 3 years ago.
interesting.

HOPE ALL IS HAPPY AND HEALTHY.
kick today in its ass!

love it.

The Raw and Ugly Truth About The War on Drugs

What's The Difference Between Legal and Illegal Drugs?

So what's the real difference between legal drugs and illegal drugs? Some people think that only illegal drugs are habit-forming. Yet legal drugs can be just as addictive as illegal drugs. Just ask anyone who has tried to quit smoking, go off caffeine, or kick to Oxycontin habit.

So is there some other difference between illegal drugs and legal drugs? People argue that legal drugs are safe.

They're FDA-approved! And yet they fail to recognize that prescription drugs kill more Americans each year than all the crack, meth, and heroin deaths combined.

Okay, then, what about the argument that illegal drugs have no medicinal purpose, and legal drugs do have a medicinal purpose. What about that? Wrong again. Medical marijuana is a medically proven treatment for a variety of conditions, yet marijuana still remains illegal. Even MDMA (now called "Ecstasy" on the street) was long considered an effective "experiential drug" that helped severely traumatized adult patients overcome past pains through improved clarity. At the same time, tobacco smoke has no medical purpose whatsoever, yet cigarettes remain perfectly legal.

No, the real difference between these two classes of drugs is not their medical merit, nor their safety. The real difference is something far more sinister.

It gets right down to answering the question of why DEA agents will raid medical marijuana clinics, yet stand by doing nothing while Americans smoke themselves to death on tobacco.

Want to know the real answer? I very much doubt you do. Because, like most Americans, you won't believe it. You've been blinded to the obvious truth for your whole life, manipulated by the media, and brainwashed by advertising that has turned you into a statistically-validated consumer. You'll think, no, this couldn't possibly be true. The world isn't that unjust, you think. But you're wrong. (Take the free Gullibility Factor test to find out if you're really a mind slave or not...)

Here's the raw, blunt truth about the war on drugs. Drugs are declared legal or illegal based primarily on who benefits from their manufacture, distribution and sale.

This was a snippit of this story: The Raw and Ugly Truth About The War on Drugs

so, what do you think?

By the way . . . I overhead "cat . . and dog" today in a conversation, and my mind went back to college days when I would it would hit 4:20 in the afternoon, and I was watching CatDog.

fun times . . . fun times indeed.

Mr. Lee, even though stupid, still my rock icon.

Anyone watch it last night?
I know that he is not the most intelligent dude on the planet by far . . . he has never really had to be a mature adult. But even that being said... He fuckin rules and is the reason that I started playing the drums. He is a fuckin legendary bad ass. A rockstar through and through. And for some reason, I can relate to him. I have vicariously lived through him for a long time. Yeah, he is stupid, but he has fun. And I dig any documentary on him. Including this stupid ass TV show.
I am a germ.
but at least I am a germ for a true rockstar, and not a texas rock star.

dig the new CD too.
hairy buds . . .

TOMMY LEE RULES!

My Random Images

If you haven't been over there in awhile . .
I had a blast last night at Henry Hudson's for Robert's Birthday get together . . . spent way too much money, and got pretty buzzy, but damn it was fun. Caroline was the only lady with us and kept up nicely! ;-) I think we both let loose a little.

Damn fun times.
Well, I may do the jazz thing at Mushashi's with Issei (E-say) tomorrow from 7:30-9:30, but not sure. Chad is tonight, but I can't make it to the lit. I really really have to start staying in.

I think we are going to start hiding out with the elusive Jamie and Angie for a bit.

Love ya'll

Then we made a couple calls and went to the Dog to open for TX Jack. Which was cool too. Two gigs in one day on the band's first day out. Pretty cool. Got good response. It was definitely fun times.

Apple - Trailers - Walk the Line

Hopefully this will rule.

Have a wonderful weekend.
rock out.

First Jazz gig ever!

I have to say that yesterday absolutely ruled. I impressed people at work on a huge project that we are working on, had a few meetings, then went to look at a house to rent. Caroline and I show up at the address that I thought that it was, and walked around the house and peered through the windows . . . all hardwork floors . . nice yard. Once the time hit, and we were a little worried, so we called to verify the address . . . we were . . . well, actually I was 2 roads off and it was 822 rather than 833. But anyway, so we made it to the right house and it really blew us away. It was perfect. Its an old house, but in good shape, really nice back yard with a privacy fence, 3 bedroom, 2 full baths, hardwood floors, very close to work, they keep up with the lawn, comes with a washer and dryer, fridge (so I won't be taking mine back from Ragan), dishwasher, the kitchen has an island . . . its just killer. But Caroline's lease is up at the end of September. But they said that since we would be wanting to stay for a couple of years, that they would keep it for us, and let us put the deposit down in Sept, and then first months rent in Oct. So . . . it looks like wifey and I got our first house together. Which rules.

Then we went to look at the workout facilities at my work. They were freaking bad ass too, and Caroline can go with using my ID, which is really nice. So that worked out great.

Then we headed over to Mushashi's to meet up with alot of folks from work to eat and watch my designer friend Issei (E-say) play his jazz guitar on the patio. It was a blast, and since I had my conga's in the back of Caroline's car, I got one out and started playing it with brushes. I did pretty damn good for playing some jazz. Really it just like bluegrass in a way. But nonetheless, it ruled. Met one of Caroline's old friends Chris. He was really cool too. So, good eats, and drinks, some non red dirt tunes and damn good ones, playing some music that I never had done, and found a house.

Feeling blessed!

not sure whats in store for this evening, gotta run through tomorrow's set list right after work with the boys, then maybe to the sky bar for some $5 all you can drink and eat, and to meet up with Deana and some other panhandle folks, and also to meet her man, and so she can meet Caroline. Then, tomorrow . . . soundcheck at noon, start at 2:45.

The first "panhandleman" overnight blog ever!

No Proof reading done here . . . . . . . . . .
------------------------------------------------------------

So . . . lets start by saying that my life has been a whirlwind over the past 4 months. Dealing with finding the love of my life, dealing with the repercussions of finding the lady of my life (meaning, many of my friends not understanding and being unsure of my quickness), starting a new job . . having new living quarters . . . I mean the last time that I did one of these, I was moving out of my apt. and was going to be couch surfing of sorts . . . living the somewhat "hippie" life. Now I have a more money, less stress job, a new lady, which I will hold dear to me for the rest of my time on this planet, and finally it is all hitting home. I just got home from jammin behind a kit, which at one time, was my life, nothing else mattered. But now, its much different. It is fun, but thats it right now, no expectations, no giving up everything for it . . . . just fun. I will play the drums until the day that I leave this world, but I got to tell ya . . . I have grown up alot . . . and I mean ALOT in the past 2 years. Possible the biggest growth period in my life. Its amazing. My lady is getting adjusted to my things that I hold dear, just as I am getting adjusted to hers. And yes . . . it came fairly quick, but only my friends fears enter into my head. when I throw all the bullshit out the window . . . I have no fears of my own, I know that I will always love this lady. She absolutely rules. . . and yes . . . if, on the rare occasion, that I ever choose to really pursue music again hardcore . . . even though it would suck a bit for us, I know that we are strong enough to make it through. How do I know? . . . cause I have been through it many times, the difference is . . I know what I've got, and she knows what she's got. Bottom line, we would work through it.

Job wise, its awesome. I enjoy being a "suit", although a very non-traditionalist suit, but a suit nonetheless. I can't believe that a hippie like me could be such a good leader, manager, boss, whatever (I knew I could though, I got skills). . . but you better know that I am still on the fringe. . . ruffling feathers in corporate america . . . but just in a tactful way. Using both sides of my brain. I will still make them see a portion of the light of the reason that my gen-x'res rebel. And I love the challenge & I love the rewards.

I wanna write more, but I don't know what to say. I told Robert one time to write whats on his mind, and he said that he didn't know what to write about. Well dude . . write about not having anything to write about. . . for instance . .

"I don't know why I am trying to write. This is stupid. I have nothing on my mind. It reminds me of when so and so said this to me . .. which leads me to think about this which leads to this . . . blah blah blah."

I challenge everyone to go home and before you go to bed, take 15 minutes, thats it, just 15 minutes, and I bet you will hit on something subconsiously that will do you good and will teach you a lesson about yourself. Try it . . . all you have to lose is 15 minutes. God knows we spend way more than that being lazy and watching TV.
Try it.
bitches.
Im out.
Time for one more brew and thoughts of my plans for the weekend.

If I don't know the number . . . I'm not answering.

I had 6 different calls from 6 different numbers yesterday, and not one of them left a message.
I need to put in my message to please leave a message, because I might just not know the number.
But none of them left a message. It makes me want to call all of them back to see what they were.
And then hang up really quick if its someone that sucks.

burhur.
I love you all.

I'm freakin busy.
Need to work late for the job.
Need to work late for some freelance things.
Gonna be practicing with Chad, Ryan, and Matt this week a bit after work.
It'll be nice to bang away behind the kit once again.
Got a gig on August 13th for a Tsunami Benefit.
