I get to go home at noon.

Half day fridays.
gotta love them.

Gonna do some practicing tonight and jam out, that way we will rock balls tomorrow at the brewery. That should be a hoot.

Come one come all.
I think we will start about 9:30ish? I am guessing. Then the Plainview guys will rock the night on out.

But first I will be attending a graduation at 4, then a dinner, then rock n roll.

Congrats to Ash on her Masters. I hope to be receiving mine before too long.

Well, keep on rocking in the free world.
And tell your mommas that you love them.
Moms rock more that anything.

My mom does anyway.
And you know thissss, MAN!

bang it.

What the hell was I thinking?

Friday was killer. Blast was AMAZING. If you ever get a chance to see it, GO. It will definitely be worth it. I'm glad I scored the tickets.

Saturday was a nephew's soccer game, then some good family time. Then it was home for a touch of a nap, watch the pres speak at O-state. (My wife recorded it for me) She rules. Then on out to Ragan's for the Graduation Dinner and celebration for Red and Carrie. I had basically made my mind up a few weeks ago, that I was going to be staying there. And I did. I think I hit the floor at about 8 am. Now, the question is this.

WHY?

I mean, hanging out and getting out of hand was fun and all, but I think I would rather go home, sleep and then maybe do a lunch or something with my buds. Because, really the time spent with my buds at 5am is not very quality time. Its fuzzy at best. And It made for a horrible recovery on Sunday. Now, it is me that did the deed, and I did pay the price. But next time. . . I realize that its not worth it. I am more of a afternoon/early evening socialite now, rather than a 2am/afterparty socialite. I think that type of a party has ran its course in this cats life.

2 words.
FUCK THAT.

I will be accompanying my wife home when she leaves next time.
Call me a pussy, call me whatever you like. But it just doesn't work for me anymore.

OUCH.

It was alot of fun to see folks I hadn't seen in a long time. I wish someone had taken video of Ragan and I air drumming and air guitaring to Cinderella. Cause we rocked the roof off of the living room.

Busy week with family and friends. The reunion show of the CDB at the Brewery on Saturday. Should be fun.

Love your life.
rock it.

Merry Monday.

Cinco De Mayo.

Well, got a nephews bday party after work.

Then I got free tickets to this.
Check these drummers out.

Then after that, I would like to take in some acoustic goodness at the Blue Door. Linville, Dameon (Briar Branch Road), and Luke (Redbud Revival) are doing a show. I think its Linville's CD Release Party for his new one Hometown Blues.

Anyway, I'm gonna have some beers somewhere in there. I mean, you have to, its the 5th of May!

Tomorrow, my buddies are graduating from OSU. The current President of the USA, Mr. Bush, is going to be speaking. Then after that hoopla, its on the Ragan's house for some beers in the sun . . . after the rain stops, that is. I'm pitching a tent in his backyard. Should be a hoot.

Happy Friday!

Might as well. . .

Let me first state, that I am ignorant to alot of this. I have though read a few books by Kerouac and a few by Thompson. I Dig them. Now Dave's book "My First Wife was a Whore" is more like Bukowski . . . or at least that is what I am gathering. I haven't read much Buk. It's a bit "out there" for my tastes. I kinda like words that flow together to make sentences. And shit.

contridiction. ignorance. and steadfast carelessness. Lets me say these things.

Now I am kinda in an artsy fartsy mood.

but anyway, I might have grouped Kerouac in with Bukowski last night when I was discussing things with my wife, but the truth be told. I don't think I should have.

I don't think they are much alike. But I am not positive. I would like to hear what some of the pro-readers out there think.

But hey, like Kerouac said . . “Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion.”

go read some other quotes, or better yet, read one of the books.

I've dug them, and I don't like reading much.

That was a killer weekend.

Went to see Texas Jack rock out and then the Stragglers. Go over to TableZero to check out some pics. Both put on a killer show and thanks to Poncho for the hook up.

Then back home and a nice sleep until we left for Talequah to see Martin. It ruled, and Caroline will have some video too, but for now, her pics are here. The show was absolutely amazing. The guy just spills music out of every pore of his body. Fuckin bad ace.
Here is one of the Videos.
Here is the other encore.

Then we got back at about 3am, crashed for a couple of hours, then up for the marathon. It was interesting. But it was cool, even when it was that early.

And then we came home and slept til about noon. I didn't really do anything at all yesterday, and it was fantastic.

So, nice weekend. I hope yours was killer too.

rock it.

aaahhhhhh Friday.

Another week is done again, time to enjoy life without work for a couple of days.

I maybe going to the Calf Fry tonight, but not quite sure. It's prolly gonna get rained out. And hanging around inside the weed is not my idea of a great time. So, like always, I probably won't know if I go until I leave after work.

decisions, decisions.

Tomorrow Caroline and I are going to head up to talequah with Matt and Carla to see Martin Sexton. That is going to be killer.

The walk on Sunday morning on the other hand, might not be. But its for a good cause, and I am guessing I may have some help in making that event cool. You know, in my head. You know. well, alright alright alright.

so, be careful and live life to its fullest.
You never know when it may end.

btw, I want to send my heart out to all the folks at USA for their loss of a coworker and to Turk's family. He was one of the embroidery guys, and he got killed in a carjacking last night. He was a great guy. And a carjacking?! How random is that?!

So, anyway, live it up folks.
Work hard, play hard, and love alot.
cause you may not be here to do it tomorrow.

Rock The Fuck On.

No Cavities!?!

Seriously?

I haven't been to the dentist in a really really really long time, and I don't have any cavities? Wow. Kick ass.

Good news there.

Saw my brother yesterday. I picked him up and took him back to the airport. He had came in to do some fishing. Fishing and Hunting to him is like music to me. And I didn't drop by his house when I went to steamboat music fest last year. So, its all good. It was nice to at least chat with him and show him the new car. I mean, your brother will always be your brother no matter how often you talk. My brother is pretty kick ass.

Well, not much going on. I gotta finish up some freelance shit, which means working late. But oh well.

Going to see Martin Sexton on Saturday in Talequah. That is going to rule. Then I might still be drunk (if I get drunk) when we walk in the Memorial walk in OKC at 5am on Sunday. Yeah, that's going to be interesting. We probably won't sleep until we get done with the Memorial marathon thing. Ouch.

anyway,
rock out.
I do.

Monday, April 24, 2006

Happy Birthday!

Well, couple of panhandle brother's birthdays are today. Mr. Vanleer and Mr. Callaway. Happy birthday and I hope you get some. . . Some cake. Poundcake.

I am digging the shit out of this CD. Its vulgar, but it is damn sure rock n roll, along with guitar solos and everything. Go check it out.

Rock out on this Monday.

It's 420 ALL Day Long.

I almost forgot.
;-)

I will celebrate tonight with Chad.
The CDB is gonna be able to rock out.

But he drove all the way last night and got back this morning at 5.

I'm sure he was giving all of us that face when he was still stuck in his car driving and we were out having fun.

;-)

Happy four twenty day!

Evening with Copeland.

The show was a blast.
Here are some pics that my hot wife took.
Check them out.

Bring the Party . .

I will be playing with Copeland tonight. He is also bringing a killer guitarist. Come one come all to the Dog.

BTW, I heard that the Dwight show last night ruled.
way to go wormy dog.

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Hop on, I will give you a pump.

I saw two dude's today at lunch that were obviously a little down on their luck. One 30 something, teeth missing, skinny, mullet dude was pedaling a bike and carried a skinny 30 or 40 something black dude on the handle bars.

I don't mean to poke fun at someone that is not as fortunate as others, but damn. My brain got to thinkin . . I wonder how that scene happened.

Did the guy have a set time where he actually walked to meet his friend to acquire the "pump" . . or was the bike owner nice enough to pedal his ass over and pick up his friend . . or did they not even know each other, but the one guy actually asked the stranger if he could get a pump.

strange sight, being that I haven't done that since I was maybe 10.

okay,
anyway,

Copeland tomorrow at the dog.
be there.

El Pics O!

Windows are getting tinted tomorrow.

Our new vehicle.

Caroline's Car is a lemon. And we are tired of it breaking down and not having a stable secure car that we can depend on.

So, we went and bought this.

We have been looking for about 2 weeks, found what we wanted. Went to a dealer and got everything where we needed it. Price, color, payments . . . all with the best warranty on the planet and 5.9% apr.

not too shabby.
we were wise about the purchase.
we went over our credit history and its better than we thought.
And this purchase is going to help it get better.
And we know that we can afford it with no problem.

Its all good in our neighborhood.
Be safe this weekend.
Have a shit load of fun at the levelland jam!
I have a new vehicle to go get. They are peeling the plastic off of it and tinting the windows for me today.

;-)

For the Love of Music.

Dude . . you may not know this, or you may have forgotten about it. But music rules.

I wake up, and get in my car and listen to music. I get to work and put on earphones and hope that no one has any problems or questions for me so that I can just continue to listen to music. At lunch, I am back in my car changing the CD in the car for a change from the drive that morning. Then get to the house, and play my drums for a bit while I cook myself something to eat. Back in the car for something completely different. Then onto work, with headphones on.

Music Music, I hear Music.
Sometimes in the silence
The Music is deafening
Sometimes in the loudness
The Music is silent.

--------------------------------------

Funny, just yesterday I was going to post that I was so tired of each and everyone of my CD's, from Rock, to Metal, to Country, to Folk, to Hippie, to Rap . . . nothing is there that I want to listen to . . so the radio comes on and there is that one song that reminds you of some sort of crazy happy memory. Then you go back and get it off of itunes, or dig it out of the CD's that you have put away. Then Poof!

Music Music, I hear Music.

--------------------------------------

Music makes the silence that much more special.
The loudness, the quiet.
The up, the down.
The light, the dark.
The fast, the slow.

Its all relative to life itself.
Philosophy anyone?

--------------------------------------

On a physics side of things. When engineers build a bridge of water. Do they have to build it strong enough to withstand the weight of the water, or the weight of the water and the boats and barges that will be passing over it?

--------------------------------------

So all this music talk, and I haven't had any music since I got here. Thats almost too much silence and tippity tappity of the keyboards and clickity clackity of the mice. Now that I have been here for 2 hours. Its time for some tunes.

--------------------------------------

I think that is enough thinking for now.
Back to work.
Its busy busy.
Well, I am busy anyway.

Have a great hump day.

alright den.

jam out.

Monday, April 10, 2006

Monday already.

I know my job is pretty cool, but I think I am in need of a vacation.
I just want to spend more time than the weekend hanging out with my lovely wife. The week starts too quickly and with both of us working out now 3 nights a week, some drum practice, and other misc. things. I am always ready to just chill with her. Plus I really want to go visit my family. I miss them alot.

Weekend was fun.
It was great to see Scott and Jeremy. They had a ended their "acoustic run" with a couple of different players on stage. Bass player was from Podank ruled. But I don't know, the live kit with sticks was kinda overpowering the acoustic goodness. Teegarden rules, don't get me wrong, but I guess I am just used to a certain thing when it comes to that acoustic stuff.

But I managed to enjoy myself. It was great to see some folks I hadn't seen in a long time. I wanted to kinda stay and party, Caroline was even up to it, but it wouldn't have been pretty. Same ol' drunk, high, blabber blabber blabber. Chose to return home. I still didn't get to bed until about 4.

So, ginger had a tough time getting around yesterday, and it got to me a bit. She is starting to get old, and her hip was hurting her. I guess I should start getting used to her not being able to do some of the same things she normally does. She is going to have her good days and bad days I guess. But it still sucks. I don't want her to get old. She's better today and kinda back to her being herself more.

Okay then,
enough about me and my bullshit.
but I guess that is why you people come and read this stuff.

hope all is well in everyone's world.

gonna go to Cox Center tonight to accept some awards tonight.

Have fun people.

Friday, April 07, 2006

This is cool as shit!

Man, this is the coolest. I dig, thanks _R_.

HAPPY FUCKIN FRIDAY!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!

rock it.

Fun times

Linville rules.

It was nice to chit chat with everyone last night. I hope everyone had a wonderful time. I know I did. I loved it.

Came back around midnight and did some philosophyin' with Roberto.
I actually stayed sober enough to remember what all we talked about.

It was a great evening.

Work is more stressful than it has basically ever been.
So, last night was kinda "stress relief" for sure.

I think we solved all the worlds problems, and figured out that I do indeed have the tiger by the tail.

I have to be persistent and determined on a few aspects of what I want to achieve.
I know I can make it happen. But its gonna take some work.
But when its something you love, its not really work.

anyways,
Happy Thursday.
Hope yours is less stressful than mine.

Rock out.

Fat and Skinny.

So, now this lady at the Carl's Jr. that I go to in the morning has a nickname for me. She is a little younger than me and kinda just average. But everytime I go through there, she says . . .

"Hello, Little One!, here's your Dr. Pepper"

isn't that fucked up.?

Next time I go through, I'm gonna say. "Hey, Pudgy One, How's your day going?"

Calling me a little one?
very interesting.

I mean I know I'm little, but I am also pushing 30.

whatever.

Linville tonight. Drop by my house before you go to the dog to check out my kit.

rock it.

Monday, April 03, 2006

Did you think I was imagining?

Oh yeah, get it boy!!

Some new drum pics.

Weekend accomplishments.

Got all the leaves raked up, monkey grass sliced and diced, and the blisters to show for it. Got some new plants and flowers planted, got the 2nd bedroom more situated, got the winter clothes put up and got all my shirts organized, rather than in three drawers scattered around the house, got the jam room organized a bit more and got the drums set up in there, complete with black lights and the tye-dye. Got the file cabinet cleaned up and moved in, and all the luggage emptied and placed together.

So basically just a little more organization and quite a bit cleaner.
Went to south okc to the Alley Club on Friday. Interesting to see a completely different scene. Cool little place though. Older folks, lots of bikers. Just a good ol' times, kinda place. Saturday night, just opened the door and listened to the storms. That was medicinal.

pics to come.

ahhh, Monday.
the circle of life.

lots of killer shows this week.
stay tuned.

I am definitely going to stilly on Saturday for the Scott & Jeremy show.

Friday, March 31, 2006

This day has been pretty hellish.

Until I went home from lunch.
Sat outside in my backyard.
And saw two lady bugs humping.

He was gettin down too.
I took pictures of it.
Then I thought.
Spring must be in the air.

Life ain't too shabby.
gonna get a few drinks prolly
sit in the sunshine.
and expell the stress of the week.

Happy
mutha
fuckin

oh, and I forgot the camera cord, so the proof will have to wait.

Thursday, March 30, 2006

Can I just hug my snare while I go to sleep?

Ahhhh . . . feels nice to own a kit again.

With ANIMAL keeping watch.

Calling all Movers and Shakers!

The shaking will take place at the Dog tonight for Adam Hood.

The moving will take place over the next couple of days in order for Chad and Beth to get out of their house extremely quickly.

Both the moving and the shaking will involve frosty cold beverages.

All Movers and Shakers are needed at both events.

Get it
Got it
Good.

you may continue with your day now.

Sing it.

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

Well, its time for Stilly . .

Going up to Stillwater tonight to lay some percussion down with Brad at this place. I've only seen Brad once in quite a few years, but we manage to keep in touch. I have always dug his songwriting. I have no clue what to expect though. But hey, doing stuff like this benefits me too . . with just getting more experience.

I need a laptop. While I was day dreaming at lunch today, I was thinking about leaving my wife at home tonight to go up there and do this. And I don't like doing that. So, if we had a laptop, I could go to my gigs, and studio stuff and whatever calls me to where I am going musically . . . and she could take pics of interesting stuff and work with her photography portfolio. Then, if she is called to somewhere for her photography work, then I could work on the laptop and get some freelance shit done.

One of these days. We will be a self-sustaining, music, photography, video multimedia machine. . . . In my day dream.

Anyway, then tomorrow I am going to buy a kit. I haven't had my own since that one October night coming back from Jamie's house 3 years ago. The po-po got me, and I had to sell my bad ass DW kit to pay for the damages. It is exciting having my own again, but also, gotta look real hard at the finances this month after I do this.

Then its on to the Wormy Dog with Adam Hood, to spend more money and forget about responsibility for a little while. Just gonna pull up a table, sit, listen, and enjoy.

Its kinda funny . . but I am starting to link people to their myspaces rather than their actual websites, because it seems like the myspaces are more up to date.

Boy Tom cashed in.

Rock in roll.

Monday, March 27, 2006

Damn good times.

Well, we rocked the T-town Dirty's Tavern. It was a blast. "Fuck the whiskey, I'm drunk on you" . . Nice to hear the feedback too. Everyone seemed to be in agreement that it rocked. It was nice to hear some honest feedback on my playing too. I haven't been on the playing field for awhile and its nice to be back on. In fact, I think I will be purchasing my own set of drums here fairly soon. It is going to make me happier than a 3 peckered goat.

"These are my drums.
There are many like them, but these are MINE.
My drums are my best friends. They are my life.
I must master then as I must master my life.
My drums without me are useless. Without my drums, I am useless.
I must bang my drums true.
I must keep time tighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me.
I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will..."

wait . . it kinda stopped working there at the end.
By no means will I treat my drums like a marine treats his rifle.

Mabye more like the abominable snowman and daffy duck.

"I will love them, and pet them, and squeeze them, and hug them,
I will polish them, and clean them, and hold them, and play with them"

burhhhhhur.

Oh, and one other thing.
My wife and I are very "special" people. Boredom and our brains can be an extremely entertaining thing to watch.

Watched Cannonball Run.
what a classic.

Rock it.

Little studio percussion time tomorrow, then Adam Hood on Wednesday. Gonna be a great listening time.

I'm in need of a payday.
alright den.

Hoo ray Mon day.

Friday, March 24, 2006

I know that I'm drunk . . . . but

Man, I am glad I got that party that was in my system . . out. I had a blast last night drinking for Ragan's wife. Thanks Melisa for your portion of Ragan's tab. While my wife got her hair cut and colored, I went to the dog with Ragan. It was alot of fun, but damn. Right now, I remember why I don't do that shit as much as I used to.

I don't know how many times I went up to one of my friends and said, "Now, I know that I am drunk right now, but . . . dude, I am so happy for you" . . I think even Mr. Steven Soundguy got an earfull.

I am glad that I got some of that party energy out though, cause tonight. Its time to rock. I'm gonna kill it, then hang with my beautiful wife. She is really hot. I like to hang with her. She is my bestest buddy in the world. . . . . And she's hot. We'll listen to NJ and then go to the hotel. We gotta get up early to make it back for Issac's Soccer game.

I always said that I was going to be a person that lived by the motto "work hard, play hard". I just didn't know how mellow the "work hard" or the "play hard" was going to be.

I do my best though.
I try to get the most out of life. Whether that be cooking a killer meal with my wife, or trying to party like a rockstar.

Here ya go.
Who remembers this?

On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

It is actually quite a nice little thing to live by.

Well, you have to add sex, drugs and rock n roll in there somewhere.
But of course . . . only in moderation.

Shit man.

I know I am drunk right now . . . but

I love you guys.
You are truely some cool cats man.

Rock it.

Thursday, March 23, 2006

What up bitches!

woman.
woah man.
woooooooooaaaaahh Man.

Little, so I married an axe murderer, poetry.

So, T-town tommorrow for the grand mack daddy illusion of a rock n roll band opening up for NJ at Dirty's Tavern. Gonna be a blast. We may only have 4 practices under our belt, and only two with a bass player, but it is gonna rock anyway. Its all in good fun. Not like this shit is serious or anything. But hopefully I don't "animal" up Mondo's drums. I'm sure that I won't hit them any harder than he does. I am stoked to see NJ's show. I haven't seen one in a long damn time. Then, Saturday they play the dog, and I may sneak out and see a bit of that one too. Who knows.

So, its a weekend full of No Justice

Woke up to 4 inches of snow. And tomorrow its gonna be 70.
Fun times.

Rock it
like Rikki does.

Don't need nothin but a good time.
How can I resist?

I wanna Rock.

So, tallied up the kevmo register last night and got all my checks and balances in order. I am starting to be proud of myself for getting all that shit taken care of and squared away. Figuring out what I can and can't do.

Extremely Busy day at work today . . . but I am kicking ass and getting it all done.

So, I feel on top of my shit, and ready to Rock tonight.

I wanna Rock! . . ROCK!
(dant da da da daa)(dant da da da daa)
I want to Rock! . . ROCK!
(dant da da da daa)(dant da da da daa)
I wanna Rock! ROCK! Rock! ROCK! Rock!
I wanna Rock! ROCK! Rock! ROCK! Rock!
I wanna Rock! ROCK! Rock! ROCK! Rock!

go hunt down some Twisted Sister.
And bang your head.
well, thats Quiet Riot, but you know what I mean.

kick ass.

Monday, March 20, 2006

Ahh, that was a nice weekend.

Well, I missed the two shows at the dog. Both of which are 2 of my favorite shows to see, but . . . it was waaay to nuts there. I didn't really want to go on Friday, but everyone seemed to go ahead and go there, so we tried, but we stood in line for probably 25 minutes, and I just didn't want to do it. So, fuck that, we left and went down the street. EVERY place was just packed to the gills and lines out the door. Lots and lots of drunk people. We ended up hooking up with Caroline's sister for a drink or two and then just went to the house. We had bought around 80 bucks worth of alcohol earlier, so might as well drink some of it. Robert ended up coming over, and we had a good damn good time. Saturday was a different story. I didn't purchase tickets on the web, and I didn't want to stand in the line again. I didn't want to act like I was with the band, cause I'm not. The black and yellows may not have been so nice. Plus we are trying to do this whole budget, save money, pay off debt thing. And I can actually see it working. So, even though I missed the 2 killer shows, we still had a wonderful time. Kinda made me think about how it will be once we move away.

But that will be awhile from now. So, this week. Gonna practice on Tuesday for the opening gig on Friday in Tulsa for No Justice at the new Dirty's Tavern. It will be Nathan Clewell, Matt Tedrow, and myself, and Mr. Jackson will be fillin in on bass for this one. Its gonna be a killer time, and you guys should come up there and check it out. Maybe step out of bricktown for a night. It won't hurt you.

Rock it.
I will.

Friday, March 17, 2006

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The day of Green is here upon us. Everyone should have a beer at noon. Just for the principle of the whole thing. Man, memories of this day are full of ALL day parties . . green eggs and ham, and green beer at Eskimo Joe's very early in the morning. Then the party usually started around 10 after joe's at the Dog. Then an all day drinking bash. I definitely couldn't manage that type of partying anymore, but its nice to recolect all of the painful memories of folks falling down, passing out, and whatever else it is that you do when you drink all fucking day long.

aaaahhhh, those were good times.

Luckily the times I have now are even better . . and I seem to remember them a little better . . I think.

Looks like Jamie, Angie, Caroline, and I are going to try something different this year. Usually we like the dog, and with Stoney . . that is going to be a party. But, I am just wanting a different atmosphere for some reason. Luckily Jamie and his better half was too. So, we may try VZD's for some traditional Irish food and Celtic Music, we may try Belle Isle Brewery, may try Baker's Street Pub. We actually just don't know. But I know that it will be full of killer conversation over some nice cold brews.

Have a great one and may just see you out and about this weekend. Big ol' show at the dog on Saturday too.

May the luck of the Irish
strick you upon your head.

Drive safe, there's gonna be alot of crazies out there.

Rock.

Alright Den.

Well, back into the work groove. And groovily grooving along.

Looks like I am going to Stillwater tonight to do a little jammin with Nathan and Tedrow. Looks like Brandon from NJ might be sitting in on zee bass guitar. Should be fun. We are trying to get ready to have a few songs for an opener for NJ at the new Dirty's in Tulsa on the 24th. I think its gonna be cool.

Then I gotta work late the other days. Gotta feed the monkey.

Not sure bout this weekend.
May go to the bricktown fest for Hosty and Gooding, then head on down to WD for the rest. We'll just have to see.

Everyone have a righteous time this week in your daily going abouts.

yeah.
that.

rock out.

Fun times!

Go on over to my wife's blog for some pics of the weekend.

It was a good trip and Caroline's first run "on the road". She enjoyed herself. Damn good thing we had hotel rooms all weekend though. The house in Wichita was definitely a party pad. It would've been kinda hard to find a place to lay our heads that night.

Enjoyed the jams, enjoyed the driving, enjoyed the conversations.
Only got a little out of hand on Friday night. And it wasn't too bad. I controlled it better on Saturday.

Mucho funo.

Happy Monday.
Man, I gotta lot of shit to do.
Time to get caught up.

eat it up.

Your opinion matters. . . but yours doesn't.

Yeah opinions are only opinions. But there are right and wrong opinions. This hypothesis comes down to education. Say there is a bluegrass band playing and 2 people are watching them pick and grin. One person who has a phd in music theory and has played bluegrass for 20 years, and the other person listens to top 40 and thinks big and rich rule. This latter person can't really pick out individual sounds of different instruments, but rather just think it sounds cool.

One of those persons opinion probably could be considered a bit more right than the other . . correct?

or are opinions just opinions?
or am I thinking that opinions are a form of criticism?
Constructive criticism with the first person . . . criticism that goes in one ear and out the other with the second person.

ponder. let me know.

happy hump day.

This time going to the Doc paid off.

Man, I hardly am coughing at all. Feel mucho better.

Monday, March 06, 2006

I'm tired of fucking coughing!

MAN!
I coughed so much when I got up this morning, I puked 4 times.

That's when I made the doctors appointment.

I feel great, but that damn tickle won't quit and coughing up alot of shit from the allergies.

So, now I am kinda messed up on the cough medicine, but trying to work at the office.

Kinda fun, kinda shitty.
I just got alot of stuff to do.

So, I jammed with Nathan and Tedrow Saturday. That was a blast. Gonna be playing with Nathan out and about a bit. Still playin with Chad as well when he's home and around. Playing with Copeland this weekend. Should be a hoot. Come to Kansas on Friday, Enid on Saturday.

Now, give me that cough medicine.

ahhhhh . . .

Life is Grand.

Well folks, how are we on this fine Thursday.
Looks like rain. That would be awesome.

Been enjoying spending time with my lovely wife. Married life is a blast. I dig the shit out of it. I got some jamming time coming up, some gigs with a few different folks throughout March and April. Got a notice that we will be receiving some pay raises come July 1, so that rules. I am diggin my job. Its a challenge sometimes, but it is just making me better.

So, I am getting better as a drummer.
getting better as a designer.
and loving my life as a husband.
Doin pretty much what I try to do.

ain't too shabby round my parts.

Chad and Adam came over on Fat Tuesday and we ate some grilled chicken and some fresh veggies that I had prepared for us. Then had a few beers and picked in grinned in the backyard for awhile. It was damn fun.

Well, other than not killing this cough/allergy/plugged up thing, life is grand.

See you all tomorrow at the TJ show and the NFD going away party.

Rock on.

A Fat Tire on Fat Tuesday!

Thanks to Roberto, I will be having a fat tire today in my backyard since the weather is so pretty to celebrate Fat Tuesday. It is my favorite.

Back better, Voice gone. .

Well, my back is not back to normal, but it isn't throbing and twitching all day, so that is good. But don't try calling me, all you will get is a whisper. I feel fine, but my voice is not there. This runs in the family . . Mom, you lost yours lately?

My throat is a little sore every now and again, but I feel pretty damn good. Just can't talk.

Which is okay really . . . It is really helping me get things done at work.
burhur.

Happy Hump day.

Tuesday, February 21, 2006

This still freaks me out. .

Can't remember where I stumbled across this, but its me when I get older. Its weird for me to look at a picture of me at 50 or so, when I am fixin to turn 29.
Odd.

200 miles behind me, too many more to go. . .

Man, I think I got it. We all have came so far, went through tragedy's, grown up, grown out. I felt like I was in some time travel thing last night. Different wormy dog, different town, same musicians, same humility, still no egos, waaay bigger crowd, some of the same tunes. Some sober, some still drunk. Same names and faces. Just about 8 or 9 years later.

It ruled.

Glad to see Stoney and Jason look so healthy and doing what they love, and getting bigger and better all the time.

Thanks to Chuck for putting together that show on a Monday.
POOF!!! Wormy Dog.

Been sick . . in the head.

Man, my back has been really fucked up lately. Parts of my hip and my knee feel like they have been given a shot of novicane. They are numb, been having spasms in my shoulder. Things are pinched and closed off and making my system go out of whack. So it has really been messing with me. I have been stressing about it, and then thinking about music and me and design and me and my wife and me. Trying to make the most out of everything.

All this thinking made my upper lip explode into one big fever blister. Which was also brought on by my fucked up back.

So, I have been to the doctor who referred me to a physical therapist, and then just gave me some muscle relaxers. Everything can be fixed with a pill these days. But it can't. I just need to find a good chiropractor and go get fixed. But I was trying to get it covered by my insurance. I don't know.

Anyway, I haven't really made any progress on any of my thinking, and really I am tired of thinking about it.
So . . . there ya have it.

I gotta stop thinking so much.

Just do. Gotta figure out what to do though.
shit, there I go again.

Pokes kicked Texas' ass the other day, that was killer. Get well soon Eddie!

Gonna go see Jason and Stoney tonight, been a long time since seeing those guys together. Should be a hoot.

Well, Lets start off this Birthday week right shall we?

Yes, we shall.
Next show is South Austin Jug Band and Reckless Kelly on my Birthday. Unless there is something I am missing.

My wife has a cool gift for me, she has had it in mind for a long time, and I have no clue what it is. Hum . . . what could it be.

See ya'll tonight. I will be there early to make sure I get tickets. Hopefully its kinda slow. I just want to sit and listen to this one.

chillin like a villian.

Typing as it flows.

Sometimes, like the previous post. I come here to write, but have nothing really to say. So I just start typing and see where it ends up. Like right now, I have no clue where this is going to end up.

hum . .

I guess right there is where it is going to end, unless I keep typing.

Like i am right now. Just typing away.

So, I really want to see Boland. I haven't seen him since the break. tumbleweed on the 18th? Dog on the 20th with Stoney acoustic. I have to spend my cash wisely. But I am just missing him. (yeah, gay) whatever.

Thats really fucked up about Mr. Sutton. Sucks man, probably not the way he thought the season was going to be.

Its 420.

and on that. I think I will stop.

We are going to walk downtown and cross the street . .
Wait, lets stop here for some beverages.
Some Jager should do the trick.
now, lets continue on.
Oh, this nice man wants to sell me some green.
Everyone, I don't want anyone of you to ever do this.
oh, a dimebags fine.
Lets continue on. . .
Don't forget to hold your buddy's hand.
now this sign says "yeild". So what do we do?
thats right, come to a complete stop and take a moment to check out the trees.
Look at that bird right there, isn't that interesting.
Ok, continuing on.
Where are we goin? We are going downtown, don't you remember.
Hey, is that live music I hear?
Grab your buddy, lets check it out.
Oh, they suck.
Ok, continuing on.
I think I need to stop for a bathroom break, this Jager is flowing straight through me.
Do my eyes look okay?
Ok, i'm better now.
lets continue on.
I think I may need something else, maybe some Miller and Camels.
man, my buddy is not walking very straight.
I think we may need to stop . . colaborate and listen.

ahh . . . where am I?

Nice weekend.
had a nice little jam session at Tedrow's house on Saturday. I think I returned home safely (thanks to Ryin) at about 4.
But I hadn't gotten to do that in a long time. It was a blast. Played a cajon. And came to the conclusion that I need to get one and play that when I am setting in on acoustic sets. Bad ass.

Super bowl, was a super bowl.

Love my wife.
got a Nickelback concert to travel to this week.

also gonna do a little acoustic run with Copeland and JZ in March.

Where the hell is Friday?!

Man, this week has seemed long. I was thinking Tuesday was already Friday, then I thought Wednesday HAD to be Friday, now today isn't Friday either?! WTF?!

Since I have done something almost everyday this week, I think I am stayin in this weekend to get some R and R and some work done.

Played yesterday with Chad and Ryan on the ol' congas. I'm kinda out of practice.

Speaking of which. . .
I got practice tonight which is always a great time.

I'm hungry.
think I may go make a run somewhere for some munchies.

oh, and work is busy as hell.
I dig it though.

come on Friday . . .
come on Friday . . .
COME ON FRIDAY . . .

damn it man. . .

it's still not friday. . . .

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

Man, I am on top of my shit.

Somehow my check hit the bank last night instead of tonight.
So, now, I have already gotten all my bills in the mail.

And actually still have a little.

So, since the budget and all . . . its time to make my money stretch for all its worth.

Time to go to Classic's for 5$ all you can drink and listen to Adam Hood.

Hell yes.
Texas Tuesday . . .
except not really.

get up on it and dance a jig . .

Where I was, Where I am.

I had to go to my old work place today to pick up my W2, and it got me to thinkin.

I saw some familiar faces, got alot of hugs, felt alot of love. And thought, man it would suck to work here, but I did for 4 years. And I got to meet these guys and gals and got some friends out of the deal. People who you don't talk to very much, but would still love to talk with ya. I am thankful that I get "loved" so much. I dig people, and people tend to dig me.

Then I went and ate at City Bites, and got a spud, what I used to always do when I worked there, and a Brooks 'n' Dunn song came over the speakers. And it was one that I played when I was in Outwest, the top 40 boot scootin smoke and lights band. And just thought again . . man I have done some stupid shit in my time.

And I think about where I was and where I am, and I love my progress.

And one thing rings through all the years.

People always puke in my bathroom. . .

Friday, January 27, 2006

The Weekend is here!

Tonight . . . anyone is welcome to come over and hang out with us. We are just gonna chill out.

Tomorrow night . . . Miggity Miggity Miggity Mac. Da Dawg.

Had a few drinks last night and watched the Godsmack DVD, those dudes can play some drums.
Thanks Robert for turning down my idea to walk to Cock of the Walk "for a beer". That was not one of my brightest ideas. My wife didn't even make any snide comments about my dumbass idea either. She rocks.

Got this site done last night. Feels nice to be done with a project. Feels nice to get paid for finishing a project as well. Thanks to Ryin for the flash.

Everyone was kung fu fighting.

Some things. . .

First a joke sent to me from my good friend Jes . . .

A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that would honor and glorify me."

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

nice one . . .

Congrats to my ol' buddy Red and his top 20 Americana Station at Live365.com. "Teaching you that there's more to the internet than just porn, You're listening to the SKYLINE RADIO."

And I got all these damn shows I wanna go see or definitely AM going to see. . . Average of about one a week.

Tomorrow - Randy Rogers Band at the WD - prolly won't make it.
Saturday - the Magnificent MMB at the WD - I'm in fo sho
Tuesday the 31st - Adam Hood at Classics - payday and 5 dollar drown.
Wednesday the 1st - I wanna play with Chad at Bin73
Thursday the 9th - Nickelback in Wichita - already got tix.
Saturday the 11th - Split Lip Rayfield - Dont wanna miss it. - 10$
Saturday the 18th - JBS at the Weed in STW - I have always seen them around my BDay, and this is it.
Friday the 24th - MY BDAY, I want to see the South Austin Jug Band and Reckless at WD

And the Mrs. and I are going to start on a budget, and as much as it makes me cringe . . . it needs to happen. I mean it really NEEDS to happen. It is going to suck balls, but . . . it will be better in the long run after I kill some of this debt.

I am not looking forward to it at all.

Soo, we'll see what comes of it.
Man, just thinking about it makes me want to drink.

fuck.

Tuesday, January 24, 2006

Oh, yeah! Dad's in town!!

So, I get to see my pa for a couple of days. He's in town doing "pilot" things. So, I think my wife and I are going to cook him a fantastic meal tonight. I am anxious to see him and let him see the house. It has became quite "homey" since he saw it at the wedding.

So, now I am ready to play again. That was too much fun. I forgot how happy I am behind a kit. You know after beating myself up and all about making it in a music scene . . . I forgot to just have fun and enjoy playing.

I don't wanna worry about what these people said, I don't wanna worry about getting paid, I don't wanna worry about getting big enough to do this, or getting good enough to have this or that . . . I just wanna play and have fun.

Fuck the drama that comes with things.
What people say, what people think.
I don't care.
Just let me play the drums and be happy.

fo sho.

Now I'm gonna get back to doing some design. Another thing that I love doing.

Yesterday, felt like shit and was pissy and depressed a bit.
Today, feel like my normal "feel blessed and be a blessing" kinda guy.

What a difference a day makes.

now go kick ass at whatever it is that you do.
and as cheeseball as it sounds.
Go make someone smile.

rock it.
I'm out.

Saturday at the Brewery was a blast!

Well, that show was a blast. As a band, we gave ourselves a B or a B-, but what was really good to me, is that most folks said that they weren't expecting us to be so tight. So it was really great to hear that we went beyond people's expectations. We definitely had a blast, and that is the main reason why we do it. It was really fun to be able to rock out on the kit again.

So, The CDB rocked it. We all had fun, impressed some folks, and could be looking at quite a few more gigs there at the Brewery. So that is killer.

I sat in with the Plainview guys on some songs with my congas. Now that I have a stand to hold them up, thanks to Bob. After all the years of beating the shit out of them, climbing on them, and riding them, my stand was laid to rest, and the new kickass Gibralter stand stepped up shiney and new to hold the ever so stickered congas of mine. And as always, I had a blast jumping around and acting a fool with them. Thanks to you guys for all of that.

I think I may have fractured my pointer finger though, but today the swelling is finally down, so I think its gonna be okay.

All in the name of rock.

And sorry Ted for no live radio broadcast . . I wasn't in on the deal. Thanks for the lovely voicemail though. Drunk Ted messages always brings a smile to my face.

Have a wonderful Monday.
see ya round the bend.

Friday, January 20, 2006

The CDB at the Brewery with Plainview Saturday!

Just a reminder.
I think we will prolly hit the stage at 9:30.
Come check it out.

and yes, I am on a full kit.

rock out.

Anyone got about 30 grand?

I really need to erase some debt that continues to piss me off.

I would really appreciate it.

Life rules.
money sucks.

Go see some live music this weekend.

Thursday, January 19, 2006

Oh, and my Car feels brand new!

which is really cool.

Last night, I taught my kids how to stage dive . . .

Young hippy professors that teach they're kids how to rock are cool.
International deans are cool.
Multicultural department heads are cool.

Last night was cool.
Seeing and listening to Linville was cool.
Chatting with Mike and telling him to be a humble soul was cool.
Touching base with Stoney was cool.
Chatting with fellow Boise Cityans, Ronnye, Phillip, and Matt was cool.
Thinking and analyzing some work issues was cool.
Being fairly grown up was really cool.

But I need to use my phone a little better.

Love all of you!

Wednesday, January 18, 2006

Linville at the dog tonight.

Nice laidback acoustic night.
Love it.

be there.
word.

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

Well, Let's get caught up.

First off . . . Apple Rules
You PC'ers just don't know what your missing.

Secondly . . . I now have 3 places on the net. This blog, MySpace, and Kevmo.com. I need to figure out what the hell I am going to do here. Not sure man, may make kevmo.com a portfolio site for freelance. May make it live again for something else, I just don't know.

Thirdly . . . Bowling is fun. The wife and I met up with Roberto and bowled at 66 bowl and had a blast on Saturday. Sunday we played monopoly, which was fun until she started kicking my ass. She was full of luck, and I was not. I swear I got sent to jail 5 times, and I wasn't even speeding?!

Having Monday off ruled. Working at a University is a pretty killer gig.

Caroline's car is running great . . . was a bit of a fluke. Still have to take mine in . . I'm scared. But it is just making a noise, still runs great, so maybe something just got loose and is rattling. Anyway, fun times there.

I want EVERYONE who is available to be at the Bricktown Brewery this Saturday! The CDB is getting rather tasty and is going to take the stage before Plainview. I am sure that those guys would like it if you stay and check them out too. But for my purposes, you can be excused after we're done and go on about your nightly fun.

I guess thats about it. I miss my family. I got spoiled seeing them on Thanksgiving then at the wedding. I am ready to see my parents and my bro's fam again. Once springtime rolls around, I am sure we will take a vacation and visit.

Oh, and I put a link over there --------------------->
for Skyline Radio. My old buddy Red is kicking ass on it. And don't forget to listen to the Chuck Norris Moments 20 minutes after almost every hour!
Funny shit.

Have a great day people!
Rock on!

Count me in . . .

Right after going to see Nickelback. We will come back and see Split Lip at the Brewery

Hell yes.
I am ready to get out of January. I can't do anything until I get paid again.
Damn it.

I'm better now . . .

I saw the newborn just a bit ago. Seemed to do me good.

It must have been one of those 8 hour funks.

Apple has some new shit to check out. Give me money so I can buy some of it.

rock balls.

I'm so Jaded . . .

Even though life is good, and this morning a new life was born. Caroline's sister, Laura, gave birth to Joshua Michael this morning, 7lbs 4 oz. . . Caroline is ecstatic! So congrats to them! Everyone is happy and healthy.

So, why am I so jaded, so pissy about things. I guess I am just having one of those days, but damn! I feel edgy. Little things are just irritating the shit out of me. Small actions of people, minor things about people butting in and saying things, rumors that don't even include me, same old music, same old way to work, same old lunch.

I don't know.
Maybe I just need to count to 10 and realize life is well.
other than the fact that our gas bill was fucking 3 times as much as usual this month.

DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN.
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN.
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN!
DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET ME DOWN!!

damn those bastards.

And I was so happy yesterday.

Check it out.

I think I'm gonna make it live again.

Sometime soon.

Feel Blessed, and Be a Blessing.

Happy New year folks.
Not only am I am going to feel extremely blessed this year, I am going to try to be a blessing to those around me.
This was one of the best holiday seasons that I have ever had . . . that is because I spent it with my wife.
Now its back to the grindstone of the day in day out work schedule.
That 8 days that I worked in December was grand, or should I say the 23 days that I had off was grand.

Anyway . . . I wanted to post the letter that I wrote to by Dad and was read by Ragan (go check out www.tablezero.com) during the wedding.
----------------------------------------

Dear Dad,

Through the years you have taught me right and wrong.
I have questioned your advice time and time again . . . then made the wrong decision and in reflection, known that you were right. The question of whether “unconditional love” exists is answered with the love that you have shown me over the years.

We’ve had our rough and tumble times, and we’ve had some explosive conversations, but as I have grown older and have mellowed, you have grown older and mellowed. And the advice that you have given me touches me everyday . . .
And lately more and more times DURING each day . . . More than it ever has in the past.

You are the wisest man that I know . . . You have done more things and accomplished more than anyone that I have ever came in contact with . . .
And now, after numerous years of being bitter, I have to figure out how you knew what was right. Because now I see the image of what you knew I was capable of.
The life that you have asked for, and the life that you have wanted for me is there . . . And now I see it. As you said in your song . . .
“All of my life, til now”
“I hoped and I prayed, that some upcoming day”
“Our son’s, they too, could hold in their arms a girl like you”

Well, Dad . . . as you and I know, I have found a lady with the same big, warm, forgiving heart like your wife . . . My mother has done more for me than anyone could ever possibly imagine, and I know that you know that . . . I love you both so dearly, and know in my heart that Caroline & I will abide by our parents knowledge . . .
Because the most amazing thing in life, is a great family.

I love you Dad!

Kevin
